Harper17: New Luxury Condo Coming to West Hollywood


A new luxury condo is coming to the Westside by a developer also from the Westside. Christina Corporation is developing a 17-unit complex to replace an older two-story apartment building on the same location. Harper17 will be located at 1274 N. Harper Avenue, just off of Sunset Boulevard.

New Design

The new design for Harper17 started in 2016 by architect SPF. The original design had 14 units. However, the project was entitled for 17.

Creative planning by SPF, especially around parking, let them create an amazing condo layout with the needed 17 units. Creating parking that met the requirements of the city’s planning department was key to making the design work. Now, first-floor apartments have street-level parking while other units have subterranean parking. In all, the condo provides 39 parking spaces.

Unique Panel System

New drawings of Harper17 show that the unique panel system is the most creative feature. The exterior of the building has bronze perforated aluminum arrayed amidst white cement panels. Although the panels provide a unique look, the purpose of the panels is more functional than aesthetic.

The pattern of aluminum and cement panels helps to create individual living spaces. Those in the condo units will feel more like they live in a single-family home than in a condo complex.

More About Harper17

This 23,000 square foot project has four stories above ground and one level of parking below ground. Even though it contains 17 units, due to the unique design, 14 of the condos are corner units.

Harper17 also gives residents a lot of green space. There is raised front yard is available to residents due to the set back of about half the building. A second green area will be in the center of the building. Fourth-floor units each have a private rooftop garden area. All other units have private decks and patios. This kind of access to nature is unusual for luxury condos in the area.

Due to the unique panel design, many units do not share wall space with other units. This creates the feel of a stand-alone space.
